The results of a new study funded by Coca-Cola Company’s Beverage Institute for Health and Wellness shows that drinking a glucosamine beverage daily doesn’t prevent or improve knee pain and deterioration. The company’s Minute Maid brand used to make orange juice containing glucosamine.
Glucosamine is marketed for the promotion of building tissue, cartilage, and some bones. Sold in the forms of glucosamine hydrochloride and glucosamine sulfate, about 10 percent of Americans claim to use the popular supplement.
